Bryony Nainby is a curator, arts leader and writer with more than two decades of experience shaping engagement with art across Australia. Currently Senior Curator of Art at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT), she leads the development of exhibitions and manages nationally significant collections of Australian art, Aboriginal art and material culture, and Southeast Asian art. Her curatorial approach is grounded in close collaboration with artists, communities and collections to create nuanced and meaningful encounters with visual culture.
Bryony has held senior roles at leading institutions including Craft Victoria, Benalla Art Gallery and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), and has delivered ambitious projects in partnership with organisations such as MONA, la Maison Rouge (Paris) and SPACED Biennale. Her practice reflects a sustained commitment to contemporary art, First Nations cultural leadership, cross-cultural dialogue and the evolving role of museums.
